Deposit and Program fee

Your Initial Deposit (“Initial Deposit”) is 300 US Dollars regardless of destination. Your deposit can be converted in other currencies as needed.

Upon payment of your Initial Deposit, you agree to fully co-operate with NSC to secure your internship placement. If we are unable to find a suitable internship company for you, and thus you wish to withdraw from the program, we will refund US$ 150 of your deposit. However, cancellations for personal reasons at any point of the pre-arrival or arrival process or non-cooperation during the process will not result in any refund of the deposit.

Next Step Connections is a fee-based professional internship program organisation. Our program includes your internship placement, housing, travel insurance, airport transfers and more. Program Fees starts at US$1100 and can be consulted on each of our program information page.

Most of our destinations do not enable students to legally get paid during their internship except Singapore and the United States.

It really depends on the lifestyle you choose to live. The inclusions of your internship program are another factor to consider. If you decide, for example, to deal with your own housing arrangement, you will have to budget this element accordingly. At NSC, we're offering various program inclusion options to help limit your living expenses budget. This does not include your meal or shopping expenses so we recommend that you find a balance suitable to your needs.

  • Shanghai: The cost of living can range from as low as 2,000 RMB ($300 USD) to 6,000 RMB ($1,000 USD) per month. Most students who eat most of their meals at local restaurants can survive on around $300 per month.
  • Hong Kong: The cost of living can range from as low as 3,500 HK$ ($450 USD) to 9,300 HK$ ($1,200 USD) per month. A meal at a western restaurant or higher class local restaurant cost around $20 per meal (Dinner).

Program eligibility

We do have a lot of experienced professionals looking for a career break/change who have joined our program in the past. Each internship is tailor-made so we really take the time to understand each applicant's requirement before securing the right internship.

Our program is custom-based, meaning that you can choose when your internship starts and finishes. We do generally need at least 8 weeks to process your application, but we encourage you to apply as soon as you have decided to go. If you decide last minute, you can still contact us and we will try our best to arrange your international internship.

No. All you need is enthusiasm and a drive to succeed in your chosen field. With that said, relevant experience in your field prior to the internship may help your chances to enter a larger firm.

Participants should be over the age of 18.

While all our internships are based with English-speaking companies, it is a valuable asset to speak the language of the country where you are heading, as It opens up more placement opportunities. We also offer the opportunity to learn the local language (or improve it) should you wish.
