Next Step Connections internship program provides students and young professionals with guaranteed tailor-made legal internships. Before you start the internship placement process, you must apply first and get accepted. During the placement process, you will be working with our program advisor who will organize interviews with our large network of law firms in Asia.
Participating in an law internship typically involves working alongside lawyers, who play an important role in society through the practice of law, which encompasses a multitude of activities. A legal internship will provide you a strong base and the ability to pursue employment opportunities outside of the legal profession in areas such as politics and business.
You will gain extensive experience in working alongside lawyers representing clients on a large variety of legal areas. You may specialize in any areas including merger & acquisition, foreign direct investment, intellectual property, labor & employment, banking & finance, capital markets, business reorganization, and commercial litigation. You will deal with clients ranging from multinational corporations, large or medium-sized state owned enterprises, to start-up enterprises in a large variety of industries, including but not limited to, automobile, energy, pharmacy, real estate, trading, retail, telecommunication, and internet industries. There may be an opportunity to work on several projects covering different legal issues.
As an example, during your internship abroad you will work alongside lawyers, patent, trademark attorneys, and legal assistants. Our partner firms are selected from the top 20 Chinese legal firms ranked by China's Ministry of Justice, and have developed excellence in the practice of modern law in China. You will work in an environment where professionalism, responsiveness, creativeness, and teamwork are the key skills.
