How do you like the accommodation that NSC provided?
Christine: I personally love the suite I've been provided by NSC! It happens to be on the 33rd floor of a very conveniently-located building. We have all the amenities that any expat would expect--and a few extras (like a dryer!!!) as well. The view from the 33rd floor is dazzling--especially later at night or in the early morning.
Patty: Housing has been great…overall the quality of the apartment is good. There is a lot of space, the air conditioner works and the weekly maid makes living there very easy.

Is the housing located in a convenient location?
Christine: The convenience of the housing might just be its most attractive feature. Walk outside and there's an eatery..and another and another and, well, another. Depending on where you want to go, most locations are quickly and easily accessible through the Shanghai Metro system, which - conveniently - has a stop that's, what, a two minute stroll from the front gate. Close by, there are plenty of places to entertain yourself like the ubiquitous KTVs, arcades, massage parlors, and shopping malls.
Patty: Housing is very convenient! You can find just about anything you need by walking down the street. Also, the location is close enough to nightlife that it is easy to get to, but not too close that bars and clubs will keep you up all night. The subway is literally right outside your door, which makes getting to work, dinner, and sightseeing very easy.

Is the housing like you expected before coming to Shanghai?
Patty: Housing is much better than I expected before I came to Shanghai. I thought I would be stuck in bunk beds with no air conditioner and no washing machine. We actually have a washer and a drier, so doing laundry is really easy. All the furnishings are nice and we have extra blankets for when friends come over or watching movies on the couch. Housing definitely exceeded my expectations.
How are your roommates? Do you get along?
Christine: My roommates are wonderful! I basically spend all of my time with Patty, the roomie who I think is most similar personality-wise to me. We share similar interests, lifestyles, viewpoints, and - frighteningly - career goals. Cook meals together, go traveling together, go out together. Don't get me wrong, we still have other friends, but we hang out a lot.
