At Next Step Connections, we work continuously in-country to develop and maintain relationships with all types of companies to ensure that young professionals have meaningful internship experiences. We develop solid relationships with the internship sites taking great care to select internship supervisors whose leadership encourages interns to identify a potential career path to keep them competitive in the global job market and begin the process of building a professional network in their career field. The internship experience allows participants to shadow his/her supervisor during meetings, take on complex tasks, volunteer their services or skills to another department for a more comprehensive experience, develop their working style, and learn insights on their chosen field.
The services provided by Next Step Connections allow participants access to leading companies and provides them opportunities to partake in challenging projects and enhance their current skill set. By offering support in-country and prior to departure, students can take the next steps toward their professional future.
Next Step Connections offers services for both customized internships and faculty-led groups. In partnership with GlobaLinks Learning Abroad , we can offer these programs by directly working with our staff in Shanghai or you can utilize Globalinks Learning Abroad’s services if you feel your program may want additional support of program advising and application processing. Both options will allow your group to experience the highest level of service, before, during and after the program!
In Shanghai and Hong Kong , Next Step Connections can work with you to build a custom group option. The minimum period of enrollment is 4 weeks and this type of program will target your undergraduates or graduates in a specific academic discipline or across a broad range of majors. Directly with College/University: Each North American institution holds individual policies regarding credit for international internships. Credit can be awarded through the registrar, education abroad, experiential education, career services, or even an academic department. Options vary across North America and we are happy to discuss the best solutions for your institution.
In Partnership with GlobaLinks Learning Abroad: School of Record: Next Step Connections in conjunction with GlobaLinks Learning Abroad partners with Chapman University to provide credit for international internships. If a student or university partner would like to earn credit, but not through their home institution, we encourage you to contact GlobaLinks at 1-800-980-0033 or studyabroad@globalinksabroad.org. Through Chapman University, the School of Record, a student can earn six U.S. semester based credits/pass fall based on four set intakes throughout the academic year.
